Here's hoping the Powers that be can come up with a TIE BREAKER for next season as there should be no ties in baseball.
I posted this in June no one ever replied to it, based upon the site we use we have ties, we have unbalanced schedules based again on the site we use.
The issue with adding players we add a player on the proboards but if you don't add him by a certain time on Yahoo you can't use him.
I don't have access to Yahoo email or fantasy at work, ever since the Yahoo hack.
So for me, I sign a player go home to add him and if there was a day game now it takes another day.
I know personally there are quite a few restrictions to Yahoo, there have been for awhile. I used Yahoo back in the late 90's to run a league, and the current Yahoo still has flaws.
For all the work that Josh, Gray & Alex do with the excel and with the proboards to then have a system like this in place is frustrating.
Now I get it, some of us didn't know each other coming into this, while some others might be together in multiple leagues so there is a trust issue. Also if your setting something up a league and it costs nothing well that's a lot easier to fill then a costly one.
Now I don't know if owners here are in other league on different sites, sites you pay for. If that's the case then please let us know about them.
I personally, when I got frustrated putting all the work in on my league I left Yahoo and went to CBS, I have run a league there since 2001.
It's a head to head, points based league 10 teams. I can make the schedule, set the point values, pick the categories, set the salaries, track salary caps, have unlimited minor leaguers that can be tracked on the league web page, and most importantly I SET THE TIE BREAKER, so there are no ties. CBS also awards a trophy to the winner.
Now yes there is a cost involved, my league comes up for renewal every Feb, if you pay by a certain date, the fee is $149.99 which divided by 20 owners is $7.50 per owner.
I have no idea what anyone's finances are, and am not even sure if they would be willing to pay for this league. I just know for the work we all put in and for the work these 3 put in to then have to suffer through 20 something weeks of that is frustrating.
Now I don't know if Josh, Alex or Gray has ever played on CBS or not, if not I can invite you into my league and show you some of the things I'm talking about or you can check on your own.
Hey if anyone else out there has a site they think is better then by all means let us know, because for this league to grow with the plans these gentlemen have then we need to make sure there is a place for it to do so.
I personally feel comfortable that if I write a check to Josh it will go to paying for the league and there won't be facebook posts of him in Vegas shooting dice.
So this is just my thoughts on the issues with the site and how it effects the league, stuff like adding wins, or arbitration or trade voting are important too but eliminating ties and matchup unbalances I feel need to be addressed first.
Finally this is just my feeling, there are 19 other owners out there that should respond to the issue and any others in the league, according to the schedule Josh set, we only have 11 days left until 10/1.
Thanks for taking the time to read this
