I wanted to see what y’all thought about laying down some solid foundation for playoff tiebreakers. Typically head to head takes care of it, if it doesn’t we just refer to yahoo which may or may not be the best solution.
If you guys are interested here is what I would suggest for tiebreakers.
Here’s what I’m thinking... 1)H2H Record 2)Best divisional record 3)Most Wins 4)Total Categories won for season 5)Total Hitting Categories Won for season 6)Total Pitching Categories Won season 7)Coin Toss

This is good
I was also wondering if we could switch to best seed wins for actual playoff matchups Ties. Right now the top seeds have almost no advantage over say the 8th seed despite having a much better regular season (besides playing the lower seeds first, of course, but that isn’t much of a benefit). The playoffs are already pretty luck based, seems fair to reward the better teams throughout the regular season especially as we have no byes

These are playoff tiebreakers only? If so what happens if after the first 6 there still is a tie? If we can do it during the playoffs can it be done in the regular season too?

This is specific to see who get into the playoffs. If the first 6 still don't decide who advances there will be a coin toss. I'm sure there is a virtual coin toss we can post on the site. However it is highly unlikely it ever comes to that. In the first 3 seasons we've never had it get past the first (Head to Head). To your third question again this isn't for playoff matchups this to see who gets into the playoffs. I can't adjust wins and losses to records if a matchup ends in a tie.

So if they don't play head to head then it's best divisional record, of course a team in one division could have a big advantage over the other based upon the other teams in their division.
I think maybe change up the order. This way
1)H2H Record 2)Total Categories won for season 3)Total Hitting Categories Won for season 4)Total Pitching Categories Won season 5)Most Wins 6)Best divisional record 7)Coin Toss
Although I want to see the virtual coin, LOL I think if no head to head then let's go with the better performance all year before seeing who they beat in their division, especially in some division teams can get two easy wins playing my team but in tougher divisions it's not as easy.

I should have specified but best divisional record would only come into the play if it was between divisional teams. Like deciding a division winner.

I would be okay with it as long as Yahoo lets you edit them. I know in my league we went to Fantrax because Yahoo wouldn’t let us edit the playoff schedule or the teams. They were very limited on what we can control. I hate to come to a decision and end up Yahoo not allowing it. Unless Josh knows for sure.
