Scheduling is too finicky. No matter what we eventually decide on we have no idea what players will get hurt, have great seasons, have easy matchups week to week. Not to mention what owners will do with their teams throughout the season. All we can do imo is schedule everyone once and then fill out the rest as best we can. We can try and extrapolate who will be good and who won't, but in the end we really have no idea.
I think there are too many variables to try to determine who will be good and who will not. On paper, many times, a team looks great, while when the wrong variables hit, they have a down year and the same can be said about teams that seem weak, when the variables go their way.
I like the way the schedule was this year. If some want to play teams in the division twice, that is fine with me, and you could rotate the schedule on an annual basis for playing other divisions. It can be figured out.

Hey Josh, I know what you said about changing the site, so I just was wondering is there anyway you can let us know what's available through Yahoo? I know you said you could make the schedule so we could at least play our division but not able to do multiple matchups, Now next year the season is starting March 29th, so do you know is that a 10 day week or Thurs to Sun 1 week? Also we had AllStar week off I think is there anything you can do there? I know some people don't like playing the last week but we did have that week. I'm basically just asking how much lee-way they give you.So there is a way to try and get the best and fairest schedule we can.

I can add the final weeks, but that makes for a bad championship matchup. Breaking up the allstar break makes for a bad short week.
As ive stated before if your wanting a "perfectly" balanced schedule, it's not going to happen no matter how long we discuss it. If we were a 16 team league it could happen but we are 20.

No I understand with the teams with won't be balanced, I was wondering what options Yahoo gives you so that we could try to get as close as we can to a balanced schedule. Or at least one where we are playing the teams within our division, maybe we do it like the pro's and play NL west vs AL west one year and then reverse it the next.

I've said this repeadetly if we were to change, our best option is play division teams twice and then play 13 other out of division games, that leaves you not playing 2 teams in the league

I understand that, and on a rotational basis it might be good, I am just basically wondering what options Yahoo has, I haven't been in one of their leagues in 17 years and when I ran the one before the options were different. So I was just wondering what they allow you to do.

I can't tell you exactly, I'm unsure. But I can tell you we have the best setup possible and nothing needs to change.

Look not looking to give you a hard time, I was just wondering what they are offering, when I ran the league, pitching wise you was given a block of innings and let's it was 2000 then a week goes by and you used 40 innings you had 1960 for the remainder of the year,so I like that, that seems to have been eliminated. Anyway thanks for letting me know what you could and who knows 2018 they might change things anyway

Yeah I mean I have no way of knowing what Yahoo may or may not do. But I know one thing championship in fantasy baseball is important, and it doesn't need to be the last week because so many players are benched. All Star week needs to be combined because you don't want a 3 game series as an entire matchup, we have innings minimum to worry about.

True,I lost my championship this year because of poor pitching and then skipped starts, yeah the minimum thing can be a problem too. well thanks for time & listening

Just a question because I don't know exactly but if we just did two conferences? Would it be tough to come up with a more balance schedule that way?

Just a question because I don't know exactly but if we just did two conferences? Would it be tough to come up with a more balance schedule that way? You'd still be faced with the same unbalance we've been discussing possible more. Divisions split into 2 would be either 9 division games, 10 out of division and 2 other random games. Or you have 18 division games (play each team twice) and 3 out of division games. So it's still awkward.

We just aren't gonna have a perfectly balanced schedule, we have to get that out of our heads, I wish I could make it happen but I can't

So it won't be perfectly balanced due to the last week and all-star weeks, but is it possible to try and get it as close to perfect. Look we have 10 teams that are NL & 10 AL maybe we play our league twice which would be 18 games then play the other league times. That is 18 games and then the other 3 against the other league maybe West vs West Then the following season play the teams we didn't

I'd rather keep 4 divisions. I don't like the idea of not playing 7 teams in the league
