It certainly is true that starters are going fewer innings. I can't count the number of QS's I didn't get because they pulled my SP after 5 innings. Or worse, after 5.2 innings. LOL I don't think the change is that drastic. I could live with what we have, or adapt (it wouldn't take much) to 32 innings.

It don't matter to me. Either one should be easy to get as long as you make an effort. I would say lowering it to 32 should make up for the rainouts.

We’ve heard from a lot of teams now, we still haven’t heard from 5 different playoff teams so I’d definitely like to hear from those teams to see where they stand on this. Red Sox, Giants, Dodgers, Blue Jays, Rangers

I don't see a huge problem changing this rule. Especially with the amount of pitchers that hit the DL each season. I understand the reasoning of keeping it at 35 too because it was set from the start, but I personally don't have a problem with it going either way.

I'd lean towards keeping it as is, but I dont feel strongly about it either way.

We’ve decided to keep the minimum innings the same for next season. This is a situation we will continue to monitor and as we see baseball trend in different direction we may be forced to make this decision. But for now we will see how next season goes and we will see if our league continues to trend towards more owners failing to reach the minimum. For now I expect owners that were not proactive enough in reaching the limit to do a better job next season.

Were the teams that missed missing by a lot or a little each time?

Most of the time teams weren’t missing by much, but there were some teams that were under 30 innings. But those were also teams that didn’t put forth enough effort.

Those teams that didn't put in the effort, it was more about effort then circumstance? Also were the teams this year that were effected the same as season 1? Does it appear to be a trend?

They certainly had players on the DL and didn’t make an effort to replace those players, as I said I had 7 pitchers on the DL at one time and was still able to reach the limits. If those teams made an effort despite having players on the DL and still failed to reach the minimum innings then yeah we have a problem. There were definitely more teams this season than last so we will see if that continues next season

Hopefully more teams don't go with this bullpen day, it's annoying to have your starter pushed back or passed over for this, especially when they only seem to pitch 5 innings nowadays.
