I would be in favor of lowering the minimum innings pitched of 35 innings to 25 or 27. I fear in September, there will too many pitchers listed day to day and one is unable to replace them because they are not on the DL.

I like the minimum innings at 35. If you drop it to 25, it diminishes the value of SP.

Generally speaking, in the first year of a start up league most teams don't utilize the upper minors for a source of stashing players. In time people realize they can place a few extra SPs or a nice hitter there for the use of multiple player moves. You figure 35 IP each week in a 20 team league shouldn't be all that difficult and now we're discussing expanding the DL.

Doesn't that make it more scheming than competing?

I call it competing. If I have to pay a salary on a contract then I'm competing and not scheming.

I get that it just seems like your now playing with more than 25 players let's say and if you put the player back on the upper minors can you recall him in time for his next start or do you have to wait 10 days like the pros?

Our rules currently state that the player cannot be recalled again for 10 days following demotion.

35 was def not met by everyone every week, but I dont think it's unattainable by any means. I like there being significant value on starting pitching (even though you probably couldn't tell by looking at my team lol). Josh and I will review how many times throughout the year the limit was not met and reassess in time. Please lets hear from some other owners on the matter though so we can gauge how the rest of the league feels.

I still prefer lowering the innings standard as the starters do not pitch as long in this era. If you have a pitcher miss a start, classified as day to day, it could cost you your 35 innings easily. There is no DLR for for a day to day player. If we all had Korey Kuber's pitcher types, it would not be a problem. I know the argument is to sign better pitchers, but we can all get caught in the "day to day", issue and the pitcher misses a start, but you cannot put him on the DL. This is especially more likely to happen in September, during the playoffs.

I think weather can be an issue too lose a Sunday start due to rain and that start would've put you over the 35 innings now lose all your points. Definitely needs a change

I am in favor of 35 innings but I also don't think it should drop below 30. If it has to change 30 innings should be the minimum it should be lowered too.

I think 35 is a good number. Going lower allows people to load up on relievers. 35 makes you keep an extra starter or two to cover those tough weeks. (Rain, D-2-D, NA)
