Hey guys I wanted to go over a few things so you can be preparing for the auction.
The date is set for SUNDAY, JANUARY 15TH at 2:00 PM EST. At this time you may start up to 3 auctions. If someone starts an auction for the same player then we will delete the one that was posted last.
There are some extremely important things you need to be aware of.
On the spreadsheet under League Summary you will find the column for Max Bid. That number will represent the max bid that you can place. If you place a bid over that number that means it will either take you over 25 players or over the $130 cap.
Now with that being said there will times the spreadsheet is not completely updated. It is impossible for the league officials to keep it updated after every single bid. I will certainly do my best to update it as frequently as possible, but I have responsibilities at work like all of you and a wife at home. It is absolutely vital that people are on top of there salary cap and rosters. It is the managers responsibility to manage their rosters.
To give an example say
I am leading the bid for 24 players at $5, which in total would be $115. That would leave me with a max bid of $15, If I bid $16 with the anticipation one of the other bids was going to be outbid that would still be considered an illegal bid.
It would be easy for that to get lost on the league officials if one of my other bids gets outbid quickly and that would ruin everything. So I can not stress the importance enough of staying on top of your salary cap and rosters. I trust all of you to be high integrity owners so I am sure we will not have any problems! Mistakes can and will happen, but it is important to be aware of how much cap space you have.
All of what I am saying falls in line with these 2 rules:
11 - you are not allowed to place a bid, or multiple bids, if the amount(s) you bid will take you over your salary cap or if the number of positions left to fill on your roster do not allow for it. Anyone repeatedly bidding beyond their salary or roster constraints will have their bidding rights suspended for 24 hours.
13 – it is very important to the successful running of this league that all managers stay on top of their salary cap and rosters. It is each owner’s responsibility to manage their own rosters and thereby comply with all salary and roster rules; the official roster pages are simply a league convenience.
If you ever have any questions regarding the auctions please send me a PM and I will try to answer you as quickly as possible.
