Gray and I have spoken about the above trade the past few days and here we are. Our idea is to collect a few future pieces in return for a dominate bullpen arm. Bryan and I like the prospects, the pick, and the 2018 cash coming our way. Trading A. Chapman wasn't as hard as one would think because we're trading from a strength, our staff.
Corresponding moves will be:
-- Drop SS/3B J. Peralta (STL) from our MLB roster resulting in a penalty of $0.25 in 2017 and us now having two empty MLB spots
-- Promote SP M. Gonzalez (STL) & SP S. Newcomb (ATL) from our MILB roster
-- With these two promotions, please place 3B B. Dalbec (BOS) & 1B/OF J. Fisher (CWS) onto our MILB roster
Good luck Gray with your playoff run while we build up our future.
Bryan will concur with this trade agreement sometime MON morning.
