In the off season I would like to discuss the idea centering around vetoes. I truly believe if someone throws a veto on a trade then they should have to state a "valid reason" why they are vetoing a trade. These blind vetoes are unacceptable.

Thanks for the proposal, if no real red flags are raised I believe this is something we can vote on the week before our new calendar season officially begins October 2nd.
The sad part is the I believe the people doing it are just trying to prove a point. Since we can't all be grown ups I guess this would be a good idea. Let us know if anyone has any thoughts or red flags to consider.

I think it's a valid point. Veto when you feel you must, but have a reason and don't be afraid to state what it is. And be specific. The problem with "a valid reason" is it is open to interpretation. "It would make his team better than mine" is a valid reason. LOL

As far as explaining why we veto a trade- I think its a great idea.
or maybe it can be set up that Commishioners,Co-Commishioners decide on trades and we managers would send a reason directly to Administration. Just another suggestion here.

Do you need to ask, why? LOL!!!! Need to? No. But I am just curious why he disagrees to help facilitate discussion about it. Just saying disagree doesn't give us a different POV

It would be interesting to at least debate why someone disagrees with a trade. There are many variables and dynamics involved in each trade in this league, especially with drafts, prospects, and the saving of cash. Has money ball arrived to fantasy baseball?

Hopefully we can discuss all the issues besides this and use as much if not all of the offseason regardless of a calendar to fix whatever issues so 20 owners feel as though their voices count.

The trade has nothing to do with me, but I saw it was approved but the votes show 5-3 against, are these some of the issues that everyone is talking about?

League rules state that there must be 8 votes against to veto a trade, which isn't asking much in a 20 team league. Non-voting parties are assumed to have no issue with the deal.
