Miguel Cabrera 1B/DET $17.10 in 2017 $17.10 in 2018
LAA trades:
Kevin Maitan SS/ATL Willy Adames SS/TB
I accept this trade as I am in contention for the playoffs this season. I am already deep at 1B but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get Miggy fully paid for 2 seasons. I see that as being my window to compete with the veteran team that I have. Losing two top SS prospects is going to be rough, but I will be able to get over that if I can find a way to win a championship in the next couple of seasons.

Most people probably think I got robbed on this, but I don't think so. I haven't received an offer close to this, and am fully committed to losing for the next 2 seasons. Need to gain value while I can.
I like these 2 prospects.
Also, this is very similar to the return I gave for Miggy earlier in the year, and he has vastly underperformed.

I definitely see why the Angels did this trade, but to me the Braves could have gotten more value here, especially with so much cash being traded away over two seasons.

Nothing wrong with acquiring a solid 1B, even if he's having an off year, for a few future top ranked prospects. As for Chipper, if the market isn't hot then take the best possible deal now instead of waiting until the off season. |

My issue with this trade is the amount of cash that's being traded 34 dollars over two seasons is huge in my opinion, I do understand its to help be able to pay for Miggy, but it's still a lot of money to trade. I think the players that were offered were more than fair, it's the cash being traded that I had the issue with.
