I agree to this trade as I am looking to upgrade my starting pitching this season. Although Nelson is a one year rental, I needed to make a move happen to contend this season. To make room for this trade, I will be dropping Jon Jay and taking the cap hit that applies.

I agree to the trade.

Nelson was a flier I took as a free agent early this year that paid off as a pleasant surprise. I've been waffling all season long on competing versus selling off short term guys to gathering future assets for the future and this is just another example of me valuing the latter. Injuries have hurt my ability to stay competitive over the last couple weeks, so it makes sense to cash in on Nelson and add a couple more picks for the draft. I've got enough average pitching to absorb his loss (maybe).
