Hey, so I brought this idea in front of Josh and he told me to ask what the league thinks. So, I am proposing some sort of messaging system for the league: Something along the lines of Flock, Slack, GroupMe, Discord, etc. An texting app that can work for this league.
I think that it will have these benefits:
1) It will allow for easier communication for trade talks and trash talking. PM's are great, but they are not as fluid as texting. Also, there can be some scenarios in which a quick text can be applicable but logging onto a site may not- maybe at a break during work, for example. Also, its a good way to have people be able to text someone if they NEED to be online for something without actually knowing their phone number.
2) It will bring the league closer together, form relationships, increase intimacy. SO far there has been a lack of communication, and I barely know people. That's because it is weird to PM someone and be like "hey, how's the day going". Better relationships =a longer and stronger league.
3) There are group messaging sites in which you can hide your itentity if some people are nervous about that, and ALL of them have do not disturb functions. You can be as active as you want- basically, there is no downside. Also, any important league annoucements can and will be done by email- and not by the texting app.
4) We can always delete it if it poses any problems (but I cannot think of any!)
So, what do you say? Any thoughts? Feedback? Any problems that you could possibly forsee with it? In my opinion, the worst may actually be deciding on an app!
