Hey guys I wanted to clarify something about the MLB Waivers....In order to place a claim on a player placed on waivers you MUST have enough cap space to take on the player!

I have a question about waivers. I looked at the rules but I didn't see one scenario. What happens to a player that goes "unclaimed?" For example lets say Matt Kemp is not claimed by any team, then can M. Kemp be traded to any team even though the trade dead line has passed?

I had that same question in my mind. That is how it works in real life. But they also have a waiver trade deadline where a player traded after that date is not eligible to play in the playoffs.
I have not read through our rules here close enough to know if we also have another deadline.

Well it doesn't say that our rules. But I just mentioned this exact topic to Gray yesterday, so we need to make a couple of changes for next season.
1. If the player goes unclaimed he can be traded to any team. 2. The team that claimed the player and the team that posted the player can work out a trade involving any players. After the trade deadline, though, only players on the Upper Minors, MiLB roster, Low Minors, cash, draft picks and any other unclaimed player placed on waivers may be traded for the claimed or unclaimed player.

So for this season, a player has to be claimed off waivers for a deal to be worked out for said player?
If Kemp or Jones clear waivers after 48 hours, I'm not able to work out a deal with any owner for them?

If Kemp or Jones clear waivers after 48 hours, I'm not able to work out a deal with any owner for them? Thats the way the rules read unfortunately. But like Stu said our intent was to be as close to the MLB rules as possible which would have been allowing a player that goes unclaimed to be traded to any team

When I realized it didn't state this in our rules, I immediately mentioned it to Gray so we could adjust this for next season

All in all you guys have done a great job structuring this league and there is nothing wrong with tweaking rules in the off season.
