Cubs trade:
Dellin Betances - $6/3 years Walker Buehler (prospect) $11 cash 2018 only
Dodgers trade:
Brendan Rodgers (prospect)
I agree to this deal because I was looking to add some 2018 cap room as well as some top tier RP's. I'm also bringing Buehler back to the team he belongs on.

I agree to this trade. We hate to give up the stats of Betances and the prospect of Buehler. But we like Rodger's potential and he will be a nice piece for us in 2019 and beyond.

Once again allow me to give more insight to those three owners who wish to cast a veto on the above trade. From the Cubs prospective from the beginning of this league Bryan and I have targeted specific prospects we believe have a high ceiling, hence why we accepted the above trade from Nate. Yes we are paying not only the salary of Betances in 2018 but a little extra 2018 cash ($5) as well. At the same time though we are saving ourselves the additional commitment to the last two years of his contract. According to MLB.com, B. Rodgers is the #7 ranked prospect while W. Buelher is ranked #11. Some may say that we might have "overpaid" in this trade by giving up Betances and cash but like we have always said we are trading from a strength (pitching & cash) to fulfill the acquisition of a coveted power hitting MI prospect.
Again this is my own personal take, but I see Nate acquiring a top bullpen arm with paid salary and extra cash along with a top notch pitching spect in return for a SS that might be a year away. I assume Nate is looking for more instant stats than waiting round for Rodgers to develop. Plus Nate has SS D. Swanson for the next five years who had a rough 1st yr but a lot of young guys struggle a bit the first time in the show.
So to those of you who like to veto trades just remember there just might be more thinking involved instead of your initial reading of a posted trade.

When detailed explanations are given like this I think the trade is fine. They know they overpaid but have a plan and who am I to say they can't implement it?
