I agree to this deal as it helps me reach my goal of winning now. I have an aging roster and need to make something happen within the next couple of seasons. Adding Blackmon does that as he is one of the best offensive players in all of baseball. |

The Giants agree. CF is one of the few spots that I have depth with Margot and Buxton available to step in. Coverage in 2018 isnt a big deal because I have a ton of cap flexibility and money to spare to fill in other holes and my books are clean for 2019. Albies and Olson fill other roster holes for the long haul and cheap contracts. Carson Fulmer and the draft pick should continue to stock my farm which I'm trying to load up on for the future. The late round picks helped get the deal across the finish line. I still have 11 picks even after doing this deal, more than I'm likely going to have room for, so unloading them isnt a burden.
The Giants will release Jordan Humphreys to accommodate Fulmer.
