I was planning on releasing Moore at some point if I needed the money for FA, now I get some kind of return even though it is small.

In the morning Bryan will concur with the acceptance of the above trade.
Alex and I have been discussing Matt Moore today and I figured why not take a flyer on the recently traded SP to TEX. Our thinking is we could afford M. Moore at $3.20 in 2018 while giving up a future 5th rd draft pick.
We will be dropping 1B/OF Gerardo Parra (COL) from our MLB roster and we'll accept the penalty.
