This is our trade:
Atlanta gives Kenley Jansen, RP, LAD, with a salary of 8.10 dollars for 2018 and 2019
I will also give 5 dollars cash in 2018
Baltimore will give:
David Robertson, RP, New York Yankees, 3.70 dollars in 2018 only
Their 1.11 2018 MILB pick
and their 3.11 2018 MILB pick

The reason I did this trade is because I was actively shopping Jansen and this was my best trade offer that I got, from about 7 teams. I think he's an elite relief pitcher with a perfect contract (cheapish and 2 years) but if I didn't trade him I would only be using him for this year. I avoided paying money in 2019 with this I like. I get 2 high end draft picks from this, which dosen't seem a lot for a great relif player like this, but I think relief pitchers are volatile and I can get 2 prospects to help me with my rebuid, and I can always trade the prospects later. I'm taking on some decent salary, and I don't think Roberston is getting any saves this year, but he might get an occasional hold, he isn't too expensive, and he can help my ratios. Orioles approve this trade. At first I was really hesitant to do this as I really didn't want to trade my draft picks, but I thought I have been really aggressive this offseason so I should go for it this season and see what happens. Robertson is a solid RP but a FA after the season, I get two season of Jansen who can definitely help my relief pitching this season.
