Power Rankings
1. Los Angeles Dodgers - My pick to win it all. What's not to like? Trout and Harper? Strasburg, Carrasco, Cole, Greinke? All of the dodgers catchers lol. Definitely poised for a deep run.
2. Toronto Blue Jays - Altuve, Arenado, Betts is stout and this team added some solid pitching this offseason. This team could go all the way.
3. Texas Rangers - This team is very balanced. It has some very solid bats and a solid pitching staff.
4. Los Angeles Angels - Addition of Blackmon paired with Goldy and Bryant should be great.
5. Boston Red Sox - This team has some great bats and some studs on the pitching staff.
6. Pittsburgh Pirates - Defending champs, Still one of the best offenses in the league. Will the pitching produce
7. Baltimore Orioles - Had some great additions in the offseason. This team narrowly missed the playoffs last year. I think this team can make it there this year and maybe make a run.
8. New York Mets - The health of this team will be the key, If it stays healthy and produces like it can then look out.
9. Chicago White Sox - This offense looks great. Has some young pitching that hopefully will produce enough to push for the playoffs
10. Colorado Rockies - I have this team pegged as my surprise team this year. This team had a lot of potential last year but was plagued with injuries.
11. Oakland Athletics - This offense also looks solid, but a lot of question marks on the pitching staff. Marte bounce back would be nice.
12. New York Yankees - This team has some serious talent on offense and pitching. Does this team have enough depth to go to the playoffs?
13. Arizona Diamondbacks - Turner, Contreras, Kluber are great to build around, possibly a playoff team?
14. Cleveland Indians - This was a playoff team last year and has a solid looking team but maybe a couple of holes to fill.
15. San Francisco Giants - This team is very very young can those players pan out and carry this team
16. Miami Marlins - This team has a lot of veterans sprinkled in with some youth
17. Atlanta Braves - This team is rebuilding but has some pieces there and some on the way.
18. Cincinnati Reds - Another rebuilding team but has some talent to maybe make a push
19. Chicago Cubs - Rebuilding team that added some vets. The one area this team lacks the most is pitching
20. Kansas City Royals - Made a big splash in the offseason. Rebuilding and heading in the right direction. Also probably lacks pitching.
Had a hard time ranking teams especially after the first 2 so i decided to split teams into tiers and I feel this is a great reflection on our league right now.
Tier 1- Cream of the crop
Dodgers, Blue Jays
Tier 2 - Loaded with talent but lacking in an area
Rangers, Angels, Red Sox, Pirates
Tier 3 - Great talent but nothing that screams championship
Orioles, Mets, White Sox
Tier 4 - Teams have talent but will young players produce, will vets produce, and will they avoid injuries?
Rockies, A's, Yankees, Dbacks, Indians, Giants, Marlins
Tier 5 - All rebuilding, All headed in the right direction, all could make a splash.
Braves, Reds, Cubs, Royals
