I agree to this deal because I really like Aaron Sanchez's stuff.  If he can stay healthy I really think he will be an asset to my team now and moving forward.  It hurts losing Barreto, but I have Xander locked up for a long time so its just a matter of who my back-up will be moving forward. I agree - I acquired Sanchez in January for a 2018 4th and 5th round pick, so this seems like a pretty good flip. I reached out to the Bucs about Barreto and Sanchez was his target. I like Sanchez and would've preferred to keep him, but I also really like Barreto and his upside as close to the bigs middle infielder. Taking a flier on Hoffman seemed like a good idea as well and the pick was nice too. Add $2 to my 2018 budget which is handy and remove any risk of Sanchez injury by getting him off my books in future years.
