Alright guys so I am going to open up this thread so we can discuss when to start the drafts.
My thoughts are this, we start the Minor League Draft in Early November hopefully finishing by Thanksgiving. And then we could take the holiday seasons off and start the MLB Auction at the beginning of January. I have a huge conflict from November 28th to December 9th where I will be out of the country without internet access at all. So nothing can occur during that time period unfortunately. We could potentially start the auction in December when I return if people don't have a problem doing it during the holiday season. That's why I opened this thread though what works for you guys? What issues do you have? We could also extend the time limit to 48 hours of how long someone must hold the highest bid to help. After all we have plenty of time. Let me know what you guys want and don't want. Thanks.

I say we start a day or two after we are filled up just to give us enough time with the minor league draft.
Maybe we start the auction when you get back and take the holidays off? Not sure if that is possible. Maybe the 48 hour time limit from the 24th-1st

We could most certainly start the Auctions when I return, because honestly that's the best time for me. But I know some people don't want to have to login during the holidays. But we will see what everyone says.

I say we start our MILB draft after Thanksgiving weekend, draft clock could be off during Christmas Eve through Dec. 26. Draft Clock on normal Dec.27 through Dec. 30, then draft clock off Dec. 31 and Jan. 1,2017. This way the draft doesn't have to stop if anyone wants chime in during the holidays.
Just my suggestion!

I think we should start the minor league draft in November when the league fills up and then start the major league portion after the holidays because I think it will be easier on everyone to be honest and it will still give us plenty of time to be able to get it finished before the season actually starts.

I also would prefer to start ASAP. We could make a break while Commish is away. Not bad to make a break anyway. Start again until the holidays.

I think once the league is full we would need at least a week for the 20th owner to get acquainted with all of the rules and a fair shot at voting on these same rules, and us to set them in stone for our inaugural season (unless of course the last few owners are good to go as soon as they enter). Past that I have no preference as to when we begin the Minor league draft or Major league draft.

I agree with Pirates. Get it all started one week after the last person has joined.

All owners will definitely get to vote on the rules. And the new owner will get there input in here as well. I forsee us being full at the very latest tomorrow (potentially tonight).

Keep in mind, that the Commish stated he will be out of the U.S. with no Internet access for about 10 days, so rather than start the MILB draft- while Josh is gone isn't fair to him. I suggest starting the MILB draft once the Commish returns from his trip, it's only fair.

Tell me if I'm missing something

Thanks Jeff, I would rather start the Minor League Draft before I leave though. We should be able to get close to done. If we are not close to done then I can either send a list of my prospects most wanted to CHW, our Minor League Official. Or like Braves said we could pause it while I'm gone.
We just can't start the Auction until after I return though. The auction requires more than just making bids for me, it is a lot of work for me to keep up with and monitor and keep the spreadsheet updated.

I'm for after the league is full and then after the Commish returns from the Holy Land to start the MiLB draft and then after Christmas to start the MLB auction.
