I know it's early but I would like for the 1st topic of this offseason's discussion to be expanding the IL. I am signing guys and they are getting hurt at the introductory press conference. I need more then 5

I am on board as well. With the 10 day IL more players are going on the DL so expanding it or making it unlimited is a good decision IMO

Thanks, forgot they decided to go back.
I still think it is good to expand the DL though, I don't really see a downside.

I like the expanding idea especially with the 15 day IL coming back, because you never see anyone do on the list and come back in the amount of time they are out

I'm simply asking my question in this thread because it's already active.
By chance are we allowed to place a MLB player directly onto the DL/IL once we win that player at auction who happens to be eligible for the DL/IL? Or would we have to make a corresponding MLB roster move once we win the player at auction and place him on our MLB roster then place him onto the DL/IL?
My reason for asking is the current open auction on SP C. Rodon and his current injury.

My reason for asking is Rule 39 does not specify exactly if the player won at auction will be added to the "active" roster in Yahoo or the "DL/IL" if in fact that player is eligible for the DL/IL:
39 - as soon as a player has been sold that player will be transferred from the Yahoo player pool to the Yahoo roster of the team that won the auction by either the commissioner or the manager that won the player, and any corresponding drop will also be made at that time.

No you can not add a player directly to the dL through free agency.
