Reason: I'm a big fan of Ramirez. I'm think/pray he will rebound back to his previous performance level soon. I'm giving up a lot of young controllable pieces. But most were excess on my team. Ramirez will hopefully step right into my lineup and be a big contributor. And to get a bat like Ramirez you gotta step up and pay to get him.

The Rangers accept this trade. Simply Ramirez has not produced and we are out of patience for him. The Dodgers approached us a week or so back asking a price and the slow drawn out do we sell or hold finally ended in this deal. We are gaining instant contributors that can help us in some categories now. A few former top specs who are finally performing to help our depleted minor league system. The gravy was a first round pick, even though it will probably be a late rounder, it will still give us a chance to build up what we sold off last year.
Place McMahon, Laureano, Taylor on MLB roster. Smith, Harvey, Mateo to minors.
To make room for the guys on our MLB roster we will release Odubel Herrera and pay the penalty.
