Giants agree to trade:

SP - Nate Eovaldi $2/2022

to the O's for:

OF - Austin Hays $0.50/2022-ARB eligible thru 2024

I agree. I'm hoping Hays can stay healthy and be a cheap controllable piece that can fill in as a starting OFer. Eovaldi was cheap and useful, but I'll attempt to replace with the small cap savings I also get in 2021 and beyond.

I didn't really want to deal Austin Hays but I do have a lot of Outfielders overall . Hays really has a hard time staying healthy so the key is if he can manage to do that. Eovaldi is a solid starting pitcher who is cheap and has two years of control which I like. My Starting Pitching was horrible overall last season so hopefully it gets better this season.
