Hey guys there has been some discussion on expiring minor league eligibility on your Upper Minors and Milb roster.
So my proposal is that players can stay on the roster they sit on for the remainder of the season, If they are promoted while over the limits they will no longer be allowed to go back down to the Upper Minors or MilB roster. Keep in mind with this players will still lose a year of eligibility even if they sit in your minors all year because there clock starts once they pass the rookie limits.
Thoughts?

I’d also suggest allowing MiLB and Upper Minors over lap a bit.
I’d also think that if you haven’t brought up the player their contract shouldn’t start. Just my opinion though.
Maybe allow players in our minors to be a free or $0.50 call up instead of starting their contracts. I don’t know just throwing out ideas.

I am for this change if a player exceeds limit in 2021 he must be on 2022 MLB roster or UM roster in 2022.

I’d also suggest allowing MiLB and Upper Minors over lap a bit. This might would make more sense to me if we remain the same...But if we change our rule to not allow players to be poached off of rosters then I see no reason to overlap these rosters.I’d also think that if you haven’t brought up the player their contract shouldn’t start. Just my opinion though. I disagree here. Just for one reason it is much easier to monitor when a players clock starts if we have an AB/IP limit. Players constantly get sent back and forth between mlb and milb and it would become difficult to monitor. Plus i think teams don't need to be deterred from playing their top prospects.Maybe allow players in our minors to be a free or $0.50 call up instead of starting their contracts. I don’t know just throwing out ideas.

If you are willing/have the time to go through all the MILB players at the end of the year and make sure they haven't exceeded their eligibility, then I think this is fine. I always thought the rule was at least in part to save you time at the end of the season

I know it is tough to monitor players AB’s/IP/games pitched throughout a season and I hate to see teams lose prospects because of that.
I have no problem checking on players status after the season. I usually have to do it anyways.

I’m all for this. Life gets busy at times, and it’s easy to overlook guys passing limits.

I think you should adhere to the established limits for MiLB and Upper Minors. If a player exceeds then you need to promote them or cut them lose.

I’m for the proposed change. Not having to worry about players being poached is crucial and I have seen this cost leagues good owners after being furious they lost a spec
