I agree to this trade to get a established starting pitcher to add to my young group of starters that I have assembled. Greinke on a one year deal with some money taken off the cap hit is nice and it helps improve my pitching staff for 2022. Kinda hate losing the 3rd round draft picks, but it must be done to acquire a pitcher of this potential caliber. Good luck to you Boston on the 2022 season.

I accept this trade. I expect that Greinke will have a good season (better than last year anyway and possibly elite again) but I have pitching depth, he will be a FA at the end of the year and with this trade I improve significantly my available cash. Draft picks are a nice bonus.
