Boston sends $4 and $5 in 2022 and 2023 respectively to NYY for G. Torres Of course I like Torres and I hope he will find his swing back. But given what happened in the previous trade, I feel like I have to add a few things . 1. As far as I know, he was "a mess" at the plate last year. So while he is young, he would not be the first player to have one great year and then flop. 2. I feel that $9 is a significant amount. 3. Torres was 316th in 2021, 619th in 2020, 56th in 2019. Finally, FWIW: LAD traded $8 for Matt Chapman + 2 prospects Chapman was 143th in 2021, 343th in 2020, 79th in 2019 (I approved that trade) I welcome the debate, this is what makes this fun! But please TOR when you veto, could you please give a quick explanation?

I approve
My reply to BOS:
The context of the money I sent in the Chapman deal was that is was for this years auction while there were still plenty of good FA's available to bid on. Mookie being the big ticket he was after at the time. It was not money for a year from now. Clearly $8 in the present auction is worth a lot more than $5 in the auction a year from now when we don't know who will be available. To me sending $5 a year from now for a player is basically getting that player for free.
Anyway, if NYY is happy with the deal, then let's move on.

LAD: thanks for your answer. I know what you mean but there were also 2 prospects involved (each in the top 10 of their team's system).
Anyway, no problem with the veto and again, thanks for taking the time to answer.
Let's move on and hope the lockout ends soon!
