A few of us have been discussing the idea of trading cash within a trade. The question that has come up is how does the team receiving the acquired cash in a trade allocate the cash? For example, let's say:
Team A Trades 2017 cash of $5 2018 cash of $5
Team B Trades 2018 1st rd draft pick
In some leagues they allow the receiving team to distribute the acquired cash as they see fit. For example the paying off of two small salaries or placing it against one large salary. In the example above, if a player was placed into Team A would that acquired cash be "required" to be placed against the player's salary? Then the flip side of the trade, what happens to the budget on the team's ML page that gave up the cash? Is the traded cash simply a new obligation?

I see on the ML under each team where it says Adjustments & Penalties. Will the movable cash simply be placed into one of these columns??

For Team A
Under Cap Penalties the $5 would go to 2017 and $5 to 2018
For Team B
Under Adjustments the $5 would go to 2017 and $5 to 2018
