Hey guys so I've had a few questions on this subject so I wanted to make mention of it for everyone to hear.
When bidding in free Agency you use any number of years from 1 to 4 plus a club option (if you have one available). The contract allotment that was used for the initial auction is irellevant now, that was to get the league following properly.
Also when bidding during free agency if a manager does not have an open roster slot that manager must declare in the auction which player they intend to drop or demote. The dropped player will be subject to the cap penalty, if the manager wins the bid. If you don't win the bid then the player you announced you were dropping or demoting will remain on your MLB roster. I will be a little lenient at first since this is new to most of you, but once we get used to this it will be an invalid bid if you don't have an open roster slot and you do not announce who you are dropping or demoting.
The salary of the player you intend to drop or demote does not count towards extra salary you can bid with. If you wish to gain extra money to bid with you will need to drop or demote the player before of during the auction to free up the cap space.
