Hello guys,
Thank you for starting this league. I'm excited to be in another league and from the start. Hope this can be just as good as our other league. Looks like there are some good rules in place. And remember, sometimes people will try to push around the rules and find loop holes in them. It is okay to make executive decisions for the better of the league.
My advice or question about the start up auction is are we going to do position at a time or is it going to be a free for all? I think it would be more organized if we did a position or 2 a week. We did that in a other league with 30 teams and most auctions for the positions were done within a week and that was a 24 hour clock. Totally up to you I don't remember seeing this in the rules of how we are going to do it. If you already have something lined up then that is great. I just know there is sometimes little rules you don't think of.

Glad you are apart of this league! We can discuss that possibility. The other league that this one is founded on had all players available during the auctions. I'm not totally opposed your suggestion, but the other league this worked very well. If you look at the spreadsheet (posted on the top tab 'Google Spreadsheet') this will make auctions very organized. The rules that are set now adds tons of strategy making the beginning stages very exciting.

I have not participated in an auction style draft before so I'm not really sure how they usually run but in my mind it seems like it will be kind of chaotic with 20 teams all bidding on players. I kind of like the idea Cubs proposed with doing specific position groups.

We have decided to stick with our original rules for the Initial Auction. It will be organized chaos for sure, but that is the fun of this format. Teams can only start three auctions at one time. Teams may bid on as many number of auctions as they would like as long as they have enough cap space to at least fill out all 25 positions.
There are 20 teams in the league, if every team starts 3 auctions at once. The maximum number of auctions that can be going at once is 60.
All the positions are layed out in subboards under the Initial Auctions Board.
The League Summary Page on the spreadsheet keeps track of all the auctions and lets teams know how much cap they have available and what there max bid can be,. The fun of this league and the fun of this auction format will be it takes a great deal of salary cap management and strategy. So I suggest everyone begin to ask me questions if they have any and start planning NOW!
