So it Begins!

Hey guys,

I just wanted to check in before the season gets underway. We are 2 days away from playing meaningful games! I wanted to take this time to thank each and everyone of you for joining this dynasty league. We began this process back in October so we have spent the last 5-6 months preparing and anticipating this season. I appreciate each and everyone of you for your commitment to this league and your patience throughout the process. I believe this league will be a long lasting successful and competitive road. We will continue to strive to always make this one of the best fantasy baseball experiences you have ever been apart of.

With the season starting I will expect everyone to be active and editing there lineup on a daily basis and checking in on proboards on a daily basis for any new information, PM's, trade offers, or anything else. Staying active will create a strong foundation and a healthy league and generally give everyone a better fantasy baseball experience. Obviously there will be times you will be unavailable for extended period of times. Please let us know when those times come so we know why you aren't checking in. Gray, Alex, and I will be constantly checking for activity during the course of the season.

Yes, Alex, Gray & Josh did a great job devoting their time to this and for that they are to be commended.
One thing though that Josh didn't touch on in his email was besides checking Yahoo & proboards and emails and all of that. The one thing that will make this league a success is for the 20 owners who have 20 opinions, no one more right then the next to BE HEARD. Open discussions where everyone feels THEIR OPINION counts for something. Issues raised and discussed and if it's done in an hour great and if it goes on for 2 weeks great. Anyone in the league who feels their thoughts or opinions DON'T MATTER is what will kill the league.
Issues that if everyone feels should be a certain way that causes the rule book to be rewritten so be it.
I have been playing fantasy baseball in some form or another since the late 80's and when you start having a dictatorship or someone feeling no matter what they say it doesn't matter your league is lost.
From the email posted about the offseason we will have from October to Jan, except for Christmas day,off from fantasy baseball. That would seem like a fine time to discuss things that might already be in place for the upcoming season(like schedule and matchups) as well as discuss issues that might have occurred during the season.That should be addressed and corrected.
Now I know there were issues with both drafts but that's to be expected you have 20 people with 20 agenda's and you also have life which as much as we try to control it seems to do what it wants.
We have gotten through that hopefully learned somethings.I have taken the issues that I was given the emails of complaints and competency and put them aside and harbor no ill will because today is opening day and I wish everyone luck and an injury free season.
