Ok thats enough from Atlanta and Chicago. This is a simple discussion, if this is going to cause arguments I will simply pick them based off draft order which was my original intent. I want to hear from other teams.

Yahoo does not let you pick and choose the playoff matchups. That is why we had to get rid of divisions in Hannes' league. They simply match up by playoff seed. Seed 1 will play seed 8 and so on. Yahoo will not let you have a true NLCS match-up. Yahoo does not let you edit the matchups anymore. I can't remember if they let you have the division winner have the top seed or not. Oh yeah, I remember that now. So I guess it really doesn't matter you go by real life "leagues" because the playoffs will be kind of random no matter what.

This was an issue two seasons ago for a number of us here. It was a pain in the ass to update the teams into Fantrax for the playoffs and then people were upset. The playoff match set up needs to be decided soon.

I guess we have to find out what Yahoo allows. Cause on wild cards they based it on the seeding. So if we have 4 divisions or 2 leagues and 8 playoff teams...you will have the division winners..but the rest of the teams will be based on seeds. If you have 5 of the top 8 seeds in Division 1 they are all going to make the playoffs. So say you have 4 divisions. You might have a 2nd and a 3rd place team make the playoffs and one division's 2nd place team might not make it. Which is okay by me but if your wanting it to be a true playoff system like the MLB it can't happen with Yahoo.

I think if everyone plays everyone once then it is fair. Are we going to have more matchups within the division? Or are we going to have a random schedule created by Yahoo that makes teams play everybody? Cause Yahoo lets you edit the regular season schedule. I think there are going to be multiple teams that are not going all in. But I don't know everybody's strategy. I know a few teams look like they are going for it so far.

I think Divisions are kind of a moot point if the playoff match ups go by seeding from the whole league combined. Even if we did a NL/AL league you might have 8 AL teams make the playoffs. But I would rather play with divisions because I personally think its more fun.

Choice B "Division winners advance but seeded by record" Divisions do matter.

Well, we do have an even NL/AL split, can't we do (4) divisions of (5) teams?
Division winners get seeded 1 & 2, then it's by record.
(Sorry if some of this was already said, I seem to be coming in at the middle.)

It had the 4 divisions of 5 teams, one separated by AL/NL and one that had them mixed.

But why would ARI be in the East instead of PIT? I am fine with mixing or not mixing AL/NL. I just thought mixing would be something different from the norm
